Deron Williams Leads Utah Jazz to the Western Conference Finals

deron032107.jpg Deron lead the Utah Jazz in 2006-2007 to a NBA fifth best 51-31 regular season record and a Western Conference Northwest Divsion title and the 2007 NBA Playoffs. San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich said that Deron's "already become one of the best in the League. "San Antonio Spurs veteran forward Robert Horry also commented on Deron's skill: "In a couple of years, they (Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer) are going to be better than Stockton and Malone... The things Williams can do are extraordinary." Deron Williams Named to USA Basketball 2007

deron052307.jpgUSA Basketball Men's Senior National Team annouced the addition of Deron Williams to the National Team roster for 2007. Mike Krzyzewski is leading the USA Senior Team in Las Vegas on August 22-September 2nd as they battle against nine teams for a qualifying spot for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Deron's outstanding defense and leadership on the court will be instrumental assets for the success of the USA Basketball team. Check out Deron's bio on the USA Basketball roster. Bill Self Leads the KS Jayhawks to the 2007 Elite Eight NCAA Tournament

self071007.jpgBill Self leads the University of Kansas men's basketball team to its seventh Big 12 Championship and 50th league crown overall, defeating Texas 90-86. In addition to the 2007 Big 12 Championship, Bill also lead the Jayhawks to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tounrnament while defeating Southern Illinois and Niagara in the earlier rounds of the Tournament. Kyle Reynolds joins Cubs at Spring Training

Deron Williams taking charge

deron017_10.jpg Rookie Deron Williams is taking charge for the Utah Jazz. In his first year in the NBA, Deron has scored a career-high of 28 points in a victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Mike Woodson, the Head Coach of the Atlanta Hawks, commented on Deron's talent: "He played extremely well. He didn't play like a rookie. He made shots and he got the ball where it needed to go." Dwane Casey, the Head Coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, also noticed Deron's potential in a previous game this season: "We left Deron Williams open a few times, he had a phenomenal game. Bill Self named Coach of the Year

Self_Net_031206.jpg McClaren Sports is excited to announce that client Bill Self was named 2006 Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year and 2006 Associated Press Big 12 Coach of the Year. Bill has been rewarded for his patience and perseverance as he guided Kansas University men's basketball team, whose seven top scorers were freshmen and sophomores, to a shot at the Big 12 Championship. KU Sophomore guard Russell Robinson commended his coach: "He's been a great coach, just saying the right things to us. He stuck with us and definitely stayed positive. Bill Self leads Kansas to Big 12 victory, NCAA tournament

In his third season as Head Coach at the University of Kansas, Bill hopes to continue this year's incredibly successful streak with their most recent victory, defeating Texas on Sunday, March 12th and taking home the Big 12 Championship, the team's first since 1999. After reaffirming their team's talent on the court, Bill and his KU staff are ready to begin the first round of the NCAA Tournament, where they'll take on No. 13 Bradley on Friday, March 17th at 8:30pm at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan. Deron Williams selected for 2006 NBA Rookie Challenge

McClaren Sports congratulates client Deron Williams for being selected to play in the 2006 NBA T-Mobile Rookie Challenge on Friday, February 17th at the Toyota Center in Houston. The teams were chosen by the NBA's assistant coaches, with each team submitting one ballot. Deron and his rookie teammates will challenge a team of leading players who are in their 2nd season of NBA experience. (Posted March 13, 2006)

Deron Williams profiled in Dime magazine

DeronCar.jpg Deron Williams appeared in the Jan/Feb issue of Dime magazine, in an interview entitled "The Rookie." In it, Deron talks about such things as his time as a high school athlete, from winning two state wrestling championships to a single soccer game where he scored nine goals, and how he's able to handle the pressure of being a top performer and having the potential to create a new legacy, both at the same time. Deron also acknowledges Tommy Thomas of McClaren Sports for helping him train for the 2005 NBA Draft. (Posted March 01, 2006)
